Paperless Installation

The size and capacity of digital space can be easy to take for granted. It can be hard to see the total amount of paper work involved in delivering the hundreds of services offered by the City of Austin. The installation was designed to showcase all of the PDF forms that the City hosts on austintexas.gov (including out of date forms and forms that have multiple versions or copies.) Forms were curated to create a physical artifact demonstrating size and complexity of content management and service access. Residents and city employees were invited to come in and give feedback.
A video of the installation is available below. If you listen closely you can hear the printer sound track that plays all of the forms being printed off to evoke the amount of paper used by the City for forms.
